Little Leopards Partnership with Parents

Little Leopards after school club which is independently run, provides after school care for children from Reception to Year 6.  It operates from 3.00pm – 5.30pm term time only.

Members of management at Little Leopards are Philippa Healey (Manager), Robin Martins (Deputy Manager at JCP) and Louise Le Flahec (Deputy Manager at JCG).  They are supported by playcare workers and assistant playcare workers who all have an enhanced Police check.

All Staff at Little Leopards have a duty of care to the children for whom they are responsible.  If there are any concerns regarding the welfare of a child, then the Safeguarding Co-ordinator, Philippa Healey will deal with the concerns following Little Leopards Safeguarding Policy and procedures.

The provision aims to provide high quality out-of-school hours childcare for parents.  We provide a range of stimulating and creative activities in a safe environment and we firmly believe that in working closely together with you – the family – we can give your child the very best in playcare.

Each session, the children will be registered and will then be offered a fresh piece of fruit and drink. After this the children will be able to enjoy quiet activities, creative play, imaginative play and small and large construction.  Children will be able to choose freely which activities they wish to do and choose and move freely between indoors and outdoors.

The setting is committed to inclusion and ensures that the necessary provision is made for every child.  The setting welcomes a diversity of culture, religion and ability and strives to meet the needs of all young people so they all play a full part in the setting.

Positive behaviour is essential for creating a play care environment in which everyone can feel safe, cared for and valued and in allowing children to relax and play. We believe that encouraging children and praising them for displaying specific, positive behaviour is more effective than reprimanding them for inappropriate behaviour.  If a child within the setting behaves unacceptably, for instance harming or disrespecting property, other children or staff, then the following procedure will be used: a verbal warning will be given, if the behaviour continues a 2nd verbal warning will be given, should a member of staff have to speak to a child for a third time then the child will be asked to leave the activity and sit out in a quiet area and given time to reflect on their behaviour.

Should you have any concerns/complaints, these should be addressed to the Manager.  If you are not satisfied with the outcome you may contact CEYS (Childcare and Early Years Service) at [email protected].
