Immersion Programmes

The JCG Foundation organises vibrant and enriching Immersion Programmes at Jersey College for Girls.

They are designed for international students aged 11 to 18, providing a unique opportunity to experience life in the College and on the beautiful island of Jersey.

Programmes range from one week to a full academic year and include full integration into school life, with students attending regular lessons, participating in co-curricular activities, and home boarding with a local host family.

Each student is paired with a student buddy to help them settle in and make the most of their experience.

The programme is tailored to support English language development and cultural immersion, fostering confidence and a deep understanding of British traditions.

  • Dates: Sept – July (term time only)

  • Period: From 1 week to 1 Year

  • Participants: Girls aged between 11 and 18 years old

  • Accommodation: Home boarding with a Jersey family

Fees

Application Fee £100

Payable with the Application Form (non-refundable)

Guarantee Deposit £4,000

Payable with acceptance of a place and refunded on leaving

Key Stage 3 and 4, Years 7 – 11: £12,500 per term

Key Stage 5, Years 12 – 13: £13,000 per term

ESOL fees

£70 per hour

The JCG Foundation can assist with the arrangement of activities and Home Boarding during holiday periods.

Above fees include all meals, books (except special books which the students retain) and stationery.

Additional on and off-island trips and excursions will incur costs as appropriate at the time.

Programmes

Jersey College for Girls offers bespoke academic programmes to meet our student needs. Students can enter JCG from year 7 (aged 11) and study towards GCSEs and A levels. Immersion programmes can run from one week to a full year, enabling students to advance their spoken and written English, grow their confidence and become an expert in English culture and traditions.

GCSE Full Qualification Programme

A two year programme leading to the award of internationally recognised GCSEs. Students will join the programme in year 10 (grade 9) and choose a maximum of 11 GCSEs.

A Level Full Qualification Programme

A two year programme leading to the award of internationally recognised A Levels. Students will join the programme in year 12 (grade 11) and choose a maximum of 3 A Levels and 2 electives.

Home Boarding

All international students who join JCG will benefit from being completely immersed in an English environment through home boarding with local JCG and Jersey families.

Advantages of the home boarding model include quicker integration into UK life and an enhanced rate of improvement in spoken English thereby improving your understanding of British language and culture.

Every effort is taken to ensure that our international students are housed in a caring and supportive home where they can fully appreciate the benefits of island life, and maximise their learning experience. Our extensive vetting process includes home visits, DBS and reference checks and other measures to ensure the wellbeing of all our students.
