At JCG, I learned a lot about the English school system and the differeces in comparison to my school. The other students were very open and welcoming and didn't hesitate to ask questions and help me when I didn't understand something. I am sure that my English understanding and speaking skills improved a lot during my time in Jersey.
My favourite thing about my time at JCG were the subjects that they don't teach in that form in my school (Textiles and Music) and the lunch breaks spent with other students.
I found surprising that in a lot of subjects, JCG takes a much more creative approach in a lot of subjects. For example, in English lessons they do a lot more creative writing in comparison to the rather analytical essays we have to write in Germany and in music lessons they do composing which I haven't ever done before in German music lessons.
I absolutely love the island! Everything is so green, the rural looking buildings are very cute and the beaches and the coastline are gorgeous. I really enjoyed my time there.
The first time I went to Devil's Hole felt like a moment directly cut out of a movie. The cliffs and the waves hitting the coast directly reminded me of "How to train your dragon".
I would absolutely recommend coming to JCG for an immersion programme. It's a unique experience and opportunity to get to know English and Jersey culture, the school system and practice your English skills. You meet a lot of nice people and can enjoy your time on this gorgeous island. I had a lovely time there.

I had a wonderful time at JCG. From the very beginning, I only had positive experiences with both students and teachers, as everyone was so helpful.
My favourite thing about JCG were the people and the school environment. I also really enjoyed speaking English every day and spending time with my lovely host family.
One thing that was different from my school in my home country was, for example, the house system, which really reminded me of Harry Potter.
I really liked Jersey, especially the countryside, which was incredibly beautiful and fascinating. I also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on the island.
One of my favourite memories was during an assembly, where I really felt how supportive the girls were. They applauded every student‘s achievements when they went up to receive, for example, a pin for their blazer.
To anyone considering coming to JCG for immersion, I would recommend it with my whole heart. Not only will you improve your English, but you will also meet many kind people who are always ready to help and support you. I know it can feel scary to go to a new school in a different country, but the people at JCG are so welcoming that it becomes easy to adjust.

I would like to share a few words about the amazing experience I had at Jersey College for Girls.
The month I spent in Jersey was truly unforgettable, a once in a lifetime experience that anyone would dream of having. From the first day, I was welcomed with kindness by everyone: my host family, the students and all the staff at the school. I felt safe, supported and always encouraged to do my best.
In just one month, my English improved in ways I never thought possible.
Jersey is a beautiful place that everyone should discover at least once. Between the stunning scenery, the friendly atmosphere and all the amazing people I met, everything came together to make this experience truly unique.
I am leaving filled with gratitude. I sincerely thank my host family and everyone at the school for welcoming me so warmly, making me feel safe and always bringing positive energy to my days.
Thank you for everything!

Just three weeks ago in my English class, I was too shy even to raise my hand. So being here now, speaking to you, feels like a big achievement! I am Helena,17 years old and I am from Germany. I am here for two weeks.
It’s an amazing to experience a new culture, the life in a British host family, to meet so many lovely people, see what school life is like here and of course to improve my English skills.
There are a lots of differences compared to my German school.
For example, we don’t wear school uniforms, the school day is shorter and while you focus on only three subjects in A- Levels, we have to do nine and are going to be stuck with Mathematics to the very end of our school career. .
One of the things I love the most is the strong sense of community that exists here. The House system, in particular, creates such a wonderful atmosphere - it reminds me a lot of Harry Potter and I can see how it brings everyone together.
The way students support and encourage each other is truly special and it’s something I really admire. I can only wish we had that same spirit in my school back home.
And as a Head Girl at home, I try to take inspiration from what I’ve seen here and bring that spirit back to my school. Thank you for the wonderful experiences and memories.

"We are very happy that Anna has found this beautiful place! Your school seems to be a little paradise. I wonder how she will continue the school here in Germany.Thank you so much for making this possible. And thank you for your great support."

I was here for one half term. I really enjoyed my time here, and the time went way faster than I thought it would go. I’m really thankful for the experiences I got to have here. I really enjoyed the Drama lessons with sometimes really funny tasks like being a washing machine, and going to climbing club on Fridays. Thanks to my buddy Mia, I managed to find my way around in school and not get lost (that often). Something that was different from my school in Germany were the assemblies, because we don’t have assemblies at all there. My host family was very nice. I’m also really happy that I found new friends during my time here, lunchtimes and breaks with Caitlin, Aurelia and Mia were always very funny, and I hope I can stay in touch with them when I go back to Germany.

I stayed here for six weeks. I am very happy I was able to experience this adventure and make friends. JCG is a very nice place with nice teachers and good teaching. I am also very grateful for my buddy Hana and for Amber and Darcie with whom I sat at lunch. A subject that I enjoyed very much was Maths because it was always a good lesson and Mrs Watkins was very nice. In addition, I have taken my Drama group very close to my heart. I am very grateful for my very nice and warm host family and especially for my new friend Olivia who was also my guest sister for six weeks. Tschüss von eurer Finja (Goodbye from Finja)
