In Year 8, students will explore key historical topics that provide a broad perspective on world events. They will learn about the Atlantic Slave Trade, the rise and impact of the British Empire, the transformations of the Industrial Revolution, and the causes and effects of World War I. These topics introduce students to themes they will revisit in greater detail during GCSE studies, while also developing their understanding of global history and its lasting influence on the modern world. Key skills such as critical thinking, historical analysis, and source evaluation will be developed throughout.
