Meet our Students

Our students are a remarkable group of young women. Passionate, kind, ambitious and hard working. We listen to them and we value what they tell us. We learn as much from them as they do from us.

Prutha - Year 8

When I first came to JCG, I was brimming with excitement and wonder to start a new chapter of school, and explore all opportunities that would come my way. I remember, on my first day, wondering about where my path at the College would lead to. Ever since, I have never looked back, discovering the spirit and essence of JCG: and the learning, growth and wonderful people deeply rooting from within. The buzz of life, laughter and learning is always welcome within the school, and every day, I always feel inspired and eager to start a new school day with fresh focus and determination.

Here at the JCG, a palpable sense of welcome and compassion echoes through the school, from staff and pupils alike. Belong is just one of our core values here, yet it spreads through to every corner and nook of our College, nurturing growth, curiosity and confidence within the students. We all - although from a vast range diverse cultures and tongues - bond as one, as we blossom into strong and independent people of the world. And, interconnected within the tight-knitted warmth of JCG community, I truly do feel like the school is a second family to me.

Opportunities to learn and question the world around us are plentiful at JCG – you only need the courage, eagerness and a thirst for knowledge to grasp it. Even outside the academic world, our school offers a ladder to a world of ideas and for us all; with unwavering support and belief from our teachers here, you can really strive in any dream and ambition you pursue.

Success is never a straight path, and at the College, we learn not to be ashamed of this, but to embrace the fresh challenges and knowledge it brings us. Resonating with our school ethos, we aspire to our highest, excel with progress and effort, inquire for new knowledge, and belong within the seamless traditions of College life.

For me, JCG is more than just a school for a good education. It is a place where students can thrive and endeavour to achieve, to learn and challenge boundaries, and strive to make our mark into the world: all whilst forming everlasting bonds with ourselves and others around us. Although I am only mid-way through my JCG journey,  I have so far immensely enjoyed my experience at the College, and cannot wait for the years to come.

Viktoria - Year 11

When I first came to JCG in Year 7, I was nervous but also excited about starting somewhere new. I had heard from current students about the many opportunities JCG offers and, now in my fifth year here, I can wholeheartedly agree.

A great thing about JCG is that there is always something for everyone. The range of extracurriculars, lunchtime clubs, and events is huge, and each one has its own enthusiasm and spirit. I’ve taken part in several clubs over the years, each different from the next but all full of passion. In particular, I love how the college celebrates diversity and culture, through the annual Festival of Cultures. The vast variety of workshops and the food festival at lunch are truly inspiring and are always incredibly fun.

To me, JCG is a welcoming and inspiring place where I can keep striving to become a better version of myself. Since joining, as well as broadening my knowledge, I’ve become more confident and improved at problem-solving. In addition, I’ve discovered a passion for cooking and baking. I’m also continuing to grow my love for writing. JCG always has, and will continue to, help me pursue my interests by providing opportunities through events and competitions. For example, in the Rotary Young Chef and the Jersey Festival of Words. I never imagined I’d take part in such events, let alone win top awards, but thanks to the guidance and encouragement from my teachers, it became possible.

To anyone thinking of joining JCG, I would say: it’s an unmissable journey that prepares you for the next steps in the most enriching way.

In the future, I hope to explore more of the world, discover new passions and experiences, and continue to grow my love for baking.
