Careers and Employability

The College has a CEIAG curriculum delivered to all students through PSHE in Lower and Upper School, and through the Life Skills and Choices elective and other elective programmes in the Sixth Form.

Jersey College for Girls (JCG) and Jersey College Preparatory School (JCP) offer a variety of fresh, healthy, and nutritious food options for students and staff. The College's vision is to encourage exploration of new tastes and promote healthier food choices.

Our co-curricular offer aims to help students develop their passions, knowledge and skills beyond the classroom.

JC Life is our annual magazine which reviews and celebrates the achievements of our students.

JCG Voice

We want our students to be at the forefront of all we do. Our students are confident exponents of their opinions; they see things with a unique perspective and have fantastic ideas about how we all can improve our College and the world around us.

Houses

The JCG House system is an integral part of school life and helps support the ethos created at the College. Upon entry to JCG, each student is placed into one of our six houses - Austen Bartlett, Cavell, Curie Fry, Garrett Anderson, Inglis and Nightingale.

Library

Well equipped with both study and reading resources, our library is situated at the heart of the College and is a bright and welcoming area for students and staff.

Parent Academy

Whether your child has been with us for a few months or for a number of years, you will know that a close partnership between home and College plays a key role in helping our students to thrive.

Pastoral Care

All parents want their children to be happy, successful, well-rounded individuals. Whilst no school can guarantee ‘happiness’, at JCG we seek to develop a student’s sense of self, their confidence to embrace challenges with a smile and their understanding of where to find support, secure in the knowledge that this will always be given.

School Times / Term Dates

Students in year 7 to 11 are able to arrive at College from 7.30am.

Site Safety and Parking

The College prioritises the safety of students, parents/carers and staff. We ask that people use our car parks with extreme caution and without putting their own and other lives at risk.

Inspiring Curriculum

With a wide range of subjects providing a strong foundation for further study, our curriculum is designed to equip our students with the skills to think for themselves, to nurture confidence and independence, and to encourage them to be active learners with teamwork and leadership skills.

Mentoring

Academic mentoring is an integral part of the tutorial system and academic mentoring sessions are an opportunity for conversation between a mentor and student related to learning, progress and welfare.
