At Jersey College for Girls, Personal Development and Character sit at the heart of our vision for every student. We believe that education extends far beyond academic success and that every girl should leave the College not only intellectually accomplished, but also confident, compassionate, resilient, and ready to contribute meaningfully to the world around her.
Through our ‘She Leads, She Serves, She Grows’ framework, we intentionally create opportunities for students to develop character, self-awareness, leadership, and social responsibility at every stage of their journey.
She Leads empowers girls to discover and develop their voice through leadership programmes, Model United Nations, TEDx Youth, student-led initiatives, public speaking, mentoring, and leadership roles across the College.
She Serves encourages students to make a meaningful difference through service to others, including charitable work, environmental action, peer mentoring, Duke of Edinburgh volunteering, partnerships with local organisations, and community outreach.
She Grows focuses on broadening horizons and developing confidence through experiences such as outdoor education, performance opportunities, careers education, work experience, challenge weeks, political education, wellbeing initiatives, and co-curricular activities.
Our rationale is simple: we want students to be reflective and intentional about their own development, recognising opportunities for growth, understanding their strengths, and developing the confidence and character to lead purposeful lives.
By embedding personal development throughout the curriculum, co-curricular provision, leadership experiences, and wider school culture, we aim to ensure every JCG student is empowered to serve, inspired to grow, and called to lead.
