Employers value this award as those who achieve it have demonstrated self-motivation, commitment, team skills and independence. 

For all three awards, Bronze, Silver and Gold, students must complete a period of volunteering, skill acquisition and physical recreation, as well as completing a practice and qualifying expedition. 

The Bronze expedition is undertaken in Jersey and the Silver and Gold expeditions are undertaken off-island.
