Today, to mark International Women’s Day, our Year 7 students joined the Year 7s from Victoria College for a joint event focused on the theme of ‘Break the Bias’.
Sixth formers from both colleges planned talks and activities and put together resources to encourage Year 7s to discuss feminism, sexism, micro-aggressions and other topics.
Lisa McClure and Phon Siney, from PWC, told the students about ‘Lean In’, an organization dedicated to helping foster leadership, advancement, and inclusion for women in the workplace.
Jersey Women’s Refuge also attended to discuss the work they do to empower women in the island.
