A Message from our Head Girl

Dear Students,

This time last year we could not have imagined the world that we live in today. In this time of the new, the strange and the uncertain we have all gone on journeys we never dreamed of. From being confined to our homes, unable to hug our friends and kept apart from our families.

The most important thing to take from this is the lessons we have learnt, we have adapted in incredible ways, found new ways to be together and appreciated our world in ways never done before.

This is made all the more special by the family each of us belong to here at JCG. As the first week of this half term has showed us we are not yet on the other side of this pandemic and so it is important to remember that we are still here for each other. From the college as a whole to your teachers, peers and friends we must still support and lean on each other. You are all incredible young people whose presence in our island and world community is appreciated and important.

Please reach out to your friends, peers and teachers, reminding them you are thinking of them, that you are here for those who may be stuck at home and that they are not alone.

Remember that for the many questions we have there are very few answers in our world and that our new reality is the fault of no one. We will rise up to this challenge as I know we always do and we will do this together, as united we are stronger.

Remember that there is always someone willing to listen to you and that you belong, not just at JCG but to our island, to our world and in the hearts of those around you. Stay safe and remember that a smile can be passed from person to person too, even if you're 2 metres apart.

Yours,

Amelie
