Sho Takei, a Japanese contender on the global ‘The Apprentice: One Championship’ TV show, has publicly thanked Dr Le Masurier, JCG’s Head of International and Business Development and chemistry teacher . “There was one teacher, he was an amazing teacher. I still talk to him today. He’s a chemistry teacher,” Mr Takei said. “And I loved his classes. I hated science, but I just loved his classes because they were amazing.”
After taking on board this encouragement from Dr Le Masurier, Mr Takei achieved ‘Sportsman of the Year’ four times in a row, and eventually went on to do a degree in sports management at New York University, before getting a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Hong Kong University of Science And Technology. Having worked as a recruiter at Uber, and formed HYRE, a Tokyo recruitment firm, he is now competing in ‘The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition’, a worldwide version of The Apprentice which combines sport and business.
The winner of the show will go on to gain a $250,000 contract to work with top sport CEO, Chatri Sityodtong.
On Mr Takei’s success, Dr Le Masurier commented: “It is great to see one of my former students leading such an exciting and varied life. His entrepreneurial spirit is clear to see! He is a great example of what can be achieved if you believe in yourself. This is just the type of mindset that we promote during our LEAP leadership programmes at JCG.”
