Meet our Governors
JCG governors are ambassadors for the school and what we do. They support and monitor the governance of the College.

Invited Governors
Farah Ballands
Chair
Farah chairs the boards of two regulated businesses, Equiom and HTCI, an HSBC entity. A commercial/trusts lawyer by background, Farah was a partner with offshore law firm Appleby for 12 years before leading the management buyout of its fiduciary businesses to private equity firm, Bridgepoint, in 2015. She was CEO of that business and subsequently of Ocorian until her retirement from executive roles in 2021. Farah was educated at JCG as was her daughter
James Willmott
Vice Chair
With 15 years’ experience in corporate law, James is a partner in the Jersey office of offshore law firm, Carey Olsen. Following stints in London, Bratislava, Singapore and Birmingham, he advises clients on large, high-profile international transactions and local matters. James joined the Board in 2019 and sits on the Governance, Wellbeing and Finance & Property Sub-Committees and his older daughter attends JCG.
Chris Jenkins
Invited Governor
Chris is Managing Director at TORA, a technology company specialising in trading and portfolio systems for financial institutions. Chris has worked in the fintech industry for over 20 years including 12 years in Asia. He moved to Jersey from Hong Kong with his family in 2015, and his three daughters all attend JCG. Chris Chairs the Finance & Property Sub-Committee.
Alison Morgan
Invited Governor
A corporate and telecoms/technology lawyer by background, Alison has a first in modern languages from UCL where she also gained a masters in literature. She worked as a corporate lawyer in London and Brussels for international law firms Herbert Smith and Bird&Bird, before moving to an in-house legal role at a telecoms business which floated on the London Stock Exchange. Alison subsequently founded the knowledge management department at the law firm Ogier in Jersey and has three children, two of which are at JCG. She Chairs the Wellbeing Sub-Committee and also sits on the board of the JCG Foundation.
Kirstie Greig
Invited Governor
Kirstie is an Emergency Medicine Doctor at the General Hospital. She joined the Governing Body in 2018 and sits on the Wellbeing and Admissions Sub-Committees.
Ed Thorogood
Invited Governor
A Director of Mourant Governance Services, Ed and has worked in strategy, IT, change programmes and operational roles. Previously, Ed worked for PwC Europe and competed in the Clipper Round the World Yacht race. Ed’s daughters attend JCP and JCG. Ed joined the board of Governors in 2019 and Chairs the Governance and the Admissions & marketing sub-committees. He also sits on the board of the JCG Foundation.
Andrew Jarvis
Invited Governor
Andy is a Technology Leader with 20 years’ experience spanning offshore Financial Services and Telecoms. He specialises in Strategic advisory, Digital Transformation and Merger & Acquisitions. He is passionate about Mental Health and is a Mental Health first aider. He has 2 daughters at JCG and joined the Board of Governors in 2021. Andy sits on the Wellbeing and Admissions & Marketing Sub-Committees.
Susie Pinel
Invited Governor
Prior to entering politics, Susie worked in art restoration for the British royal family for eleven years, repairing miniature portraits which were damaged in the Windsor Castle fire, for which she received a Royal Warrant. Susie has served the island in various roles within the States Assembly, as Deputy for St Clement , the Minister for Social Security, and the Minister for Treasury and Resources between 2011 and 2022. Susie joined the Board of Governors in February 2024 and sits on the Finance and Property Sub-Committee.

Elizabeth Boleat
JCP Parent Governor
Educated at JCG, Elizabeth went on to gain a PhD in chemical physics from UCL and then a medical degree at Guy’s, King’s & St Thomas’ school of medicine. She trained as an anaesthetic doctor and worked in London for a number of years. She has now returned to Jersey and is currently on a career break raising her five children, four of whom are at JCP. Elizabeth currently sits on the Admissions & Marketing Sub-Committee.
Louise Godley
JCG Parent Governor
Louise is a banking and finance lawyer currently working at Kleinwort Hambros as a Senior Legal Counsel. She has previous legal experience working in law firms and banks in Jersey, London, Vienna and Luxembourg. Louise has two daughters who both attend JCG and she joined the Board of Governors in 2024.
Staff Governor
Simon Lewis
Whole College Staff Governor
Educated at King's School, Worcester and then Trinity College, Cambridge, Simon joined JCG in 1998 and has been Head of the Mathematics, Computing and Economics Faculty at JCG since 2016. From 2012-2014 Simon was given a planned two-year sabbatical to teach as Head of Maths at Dulwich College, Suzhou, and was a member of Jersey's Statistics Users Group from 2019-2022. Simon has a daughter at JCG and has a particular interest in increasing opportunities for students to extend their learning outside the classroom.
