Meet our Governors
JCG governors are ambassadors for the school and what we do. They support and monitor the governance of the College.

Louise is the Chief Financial Officer for the Channel Islands Co-operative Society. Prior to joining the Society Louise spent nine years with the Channel Islands Competition and Regulatory Authorities, including seven years on the Board. She has a daughter at JCG and joined the Board of Governors in 2017. Louise sits on the Standards and Finance & Property Sub-Committees and was appointed as Chair in June 2021.
Nancy is Head of Bedell Cristin’s International Private Client practice in Jersey. She has a vast array of skills and experience covering many legal areas. She joined the Board in October 2020 to sit on the Governance Sub-Committee and also sits on the Standards Sub-Committee. Nancy was appointed as Vice-Chair in June 2021.
With 15 years’ experience in corporate law, James is a partner in the Jersey office of offshore law firm, Carey Olsen. Following stints in London, Bratislava, Singapore and Birmingham, he advises clients on large, high-profile international transactions and local matters. James joined the Board in 2019 and sits on the Governance, Wellbeing and Finance & Property Sub-Committees and his older daughter attends JCG.
Chris is Managing Director at TORA, a technology company specialising in trading and portfolio systems for financial institutions. Chris has worked in the fintech industry for over 20 years including 12 years in Asia. He moved to Jersey from Hong Kong with his family in 2015, and his three daughters all attend JCG. Chris Chairs the Finance & Property Sub-Committee.
A corporate and telecoms/technology lawyer by background, Alison has a first in modern languages from UCL where she also gained a masters in literature. She worked as a corporate lawyer in London and Brussels for international law firms Herbert Smith and Bird&Bird, before moving to an in-house legal role at a telecoms business which floated on the London Stock Exchange. Alison subsequently founded the knowledge management department at the law firm Ogier in Jersey and has three children, two of which are at JCG. She sits on the Wellbeing Sub-Committee and also sits on the board of the JCG Foundation.
Catherine is the Headteacher at St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School in London, part of the Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership. Catherine joined the Board in 2019 and sits on the Standards Sub-Committee.
Kirstie is an Emergency Medicine Doctor at the General Hospital. She joined the Governing Body in 2018 and chairs the Wellbeing Sub-Committee. Kirstie also sits on the Admissions Sub-Committee.
Cedric is a business advisor with over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of commercial and voluntary roles including business and product development. He is an investor in a local start-up enterprise and works at Jersey Business, advising owner managers on how to make better decisions and improve their overall business outcomes. Educated at VCJ, Cedric’s daughter attends JCG. He joined the Board in 2018 and sits on the Admissions and Finance & Property Sub-Committees.
A Director of Mourant Governance Services, Ed and has worked in strategy, IT, change programmes and operational roles. Previously, Ed worked for PwC Europe and competed in the Clipper Round the World Yacht race. Ed’s daughters attend JCP and JCG. Ed joined the board of Governors in 2019 and Chairs both the Governance and Admissions Sub-Committees. He also sits on the board of the JCG Foundation.
Educated at VCJ, and then the University of Oxford, Simon on the Senior Leadership Team at JCG and will take the role of Assistance Head from September 2021. He is interested in teaching and learning about literature from the ancient world to the present day. Simon joined the Board of Governors in June 2018, and he enjoys supporting the progress and welfare of his students in this different capacity. He sits on the Governance Sub-Committee and attends the Wellbeing Sub-Committee.
