Last night, Y13 Biology students went to Queens Valley Reservoir to go bat hunting! Amy and Philip from the Jersey Bat Group kindly met us and provided each student with a bat detector and explained to us about bat diet, their importance to the eco-system and echolocation. 

This isn't something that is on the syllabus, but was a request from the students themselves. They were lucky enough to hear the calls of a range of species!
