6th July 2016
In June 2016, two of our Year 11 GCSE students were shortlisted for a prize at the prestigious CCA Galleries Internship Awards. The annual competition is open to all local Art students from the ages of 15-18, and the winning students are given the chance to work with established contemporary artists at CCA, both locally and in the UK. This year, Emily Doyle and Jemima Houze were both selected for the exhibition at the gallery in Hill Street on July 5th, having made it through to the final 12. Emily was judged runner-up in her section, and was awarded a monograph about the artist Dan Baldwin. Jemima triumphed in the same section, and is the delighted recipient of an internship at the Gallery, plus a 1:1 workshop with the painter David Henley. Congratulations to both girls, especially as only three Year 11 students were selected (the other shortlisters being A level students).
