JCG Serves 2016

9th November 2016

The JCG Serves Fair was once again a great success with thirty charities setting up stalls on 3rd and 4th November in College Hall.
We were particularly pleased with the diversity of organisations represented at the fair this year and the wealth of information they shared and the volunteering opportunities they offered to students.
The charities had also had an enjoyable day and here are some quotes with their feedback:
‘Well organised, great buzz and well behaved and intelligent students. Volunteers were engaged and helpful.
‘An excellent two days. The students were very interested in our work.’
Project Linus:
‘All visitors to our stand were very polite and interested … A great opportunity to network and do work with other charities.
Variety – The Children’s Charity
‘It has been a great pleasure to meet so many young people who are genuinely interested in Variety’s work. It bodes well for the future of this very worthwhile charity.’
Brig-y-don Children’s Charity
‘Thank you for inviting us to promote our cause at JCG. We were amazed by the amount of interest shown by so many of the students. Some have offered to support our Christmas present appeal and to volunteer at events. We thank you all.
Mind Jersey
‘The students were all very polite, engaging, enthusiastic, interested and a pleasure to chat with. We had lots of conversations about good mental health and how to stay mentally healthy.’
‘Well organised event, great atmosphere and wonderful opportunity to share the work that we do at Headway and hopefully inspire the students to support charitable work’
Guide Dogs for the Blind
‘Everyone wanted to pat Pasha, Jenny’s Guide Dog, and Pasha WANTED everyone to pat her. An enjoyable and fruitful event for all.
Jersey Bat Group
‘We were really excited and encouraged by the students’ knowledge and feel positive about their passion for nature and wildlife.’
