24th June 2013
What a fantastic day. The Houses were as competitive as ever. Year 7, 8 and 9 battled it out, as did the Year 10 and 12’s.
Events ranged from shot to discus, long to high jump, 100m to 1500m and even a staff relay. Faces were red, nerves were high, cheering was loud and records were reached. Holly Widdowson (Year 10) equalised the high jump record of 159cm. A huge well done to this years’ House Captains who made a huge effort with costumes, banners, chants and face paints. The atmosphere was electric as the girls competed for the prestigious Athletics Cup. There were two other annual awards for the best senior and junior performance of the day. The junior award went to Bali Eden (Year 8) and the senior to Hannah Bolton (Year 12).
The overall positions were-
1st Garret Anderson
It was fabulous to see a number of parents, family and friends come down to FB to support. The weather was kind to us, which just added to a perfect day for competitors and the Parents’ Association refreshment tent. A big thank you needs to go to Lauren Mills, Sports Captain, and her Deputy Ella Dias, who helped set up and run this event. All the staff took on their roles and the day ran very smoothly. Thanks to you all. A special thanks to Mr Taylor, who has been our treasured scorer for the past number of years. It was his final time to record and tally the scores, as he will be leaving us at the end of term.
