  • Tinathon Challenge

    Year 7 forms collected tins for the Shelter Trust's annual 'Tinathon' collection and were challenged to build a free standing sculpture using their tins. There was a lively atmosphere on the terrace as the structures came together and were prepared for judging. Inglis's rocket was the eventual winner. A huge well done to all the forms for their positivity and donations.

  • Les Jeux des Iles

    We are enormously proud of our students who travelled to Les Jeux des Iles to represent Jersey in Sicily. They performed extremely well with Olivia Allbut gaining gold for 400m hurdles and silver in 400m, Lucy Hunt silver for 800m, Lucy Woodward bronze for high jump and silver for javelin and Amelia Shenton gold for javelin.

  • The Girls’ Schools Cup

    The Girls’ Schools Cup was held on Tuesday 5th June on a rather chilly blustery day. We still managed to hold on to our trophies for both senior and junior events. A big well done to all girls involved. Considering the weather, the girls performed to a high standard with Lucy Woodward breaking the long jump record with a 5m 15 jump, and Ruby Morris breaking the shot put record for a second year running.

  • Visit from Dr Perez

    JCG had the pleasure of hosting Dr Perez, a researcher from the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona. Dr Perez spoke to the Year 7s about the genetics, the nature vs nurture debate and how the round worm is helping scientific advancements in multiple fields. The students asked incredibly insightful questions such as "do worms perceive time like we do?", "do worms have a memory?" and many more!

  • Battlefields Trip

    Five of our Year 9 students, accompanied by Mr Evans, returned on Thursday from the 2018 Secondary Schools Battlefields Trip, which is run in conjunction with the Bailiff’s Chambers to commemorate the centenary of the First World War​. The British, French, and German cemeteries, the Canadian, Indian, and South African memorials, the Passchendaele Museum, the Menin Gate ceremony, the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, the Lochnagar Crater, and the Jersey Memorial in Guillemont all impressed upon their visitors the scale of the horror and tragedy that befell Europe a century ago, and the invaluable worth of peace and reconciliation.​
