    Congratulations to the four JCG finalists, Julia, Lydia, Jess and Rhea, who performed so well in last night’s PwC Jersey Young Musician of the Year competition. They are all a great credit to themselves, their families and their teachers. Special congratulations to overall winner Julia (voice) and winner of the Jersey Symphony Orchestra award, Lydia (brass).​

  • U14 Netball Tournament

    The U14 A & B teams played in the Jersey Secondary Schools netball tournament yesterday. Both teams played with maturity and enthusiasm, working well together to perform some excellent netball with a high level of skill. Winning all of their games played, both the A and B team were champions of their tournament group.

  • Juvenes Translatores

    Some of our A level MFL students took part in a challenging translation contest, Juvenes Translatores, for secondary school pupils in the European Union, organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation. The competition involved translating a complex text from French, Spanish or Italian into English, with one overall winner per country and a small number of outstanding competitors gaining a special mention. All of our students performed extremely well and we are delighted that Maddie has been awarded a 'special mention' certificate for her Italian translation. Congratulazioni, Maddie!​

  • Royal Opera House’s Prestigious Annual Design Challenge competition

    Year 12 textile students have been selected to take part in the Royal Opera House’s Prestigious Annual Design Challenge competition. This challenge gave them the opportunity to test and develop their design skills based around the Kenneth Macmillan’s ballet ‘Romeo and Juliet’.

  • Jersey Schools Netball tournament

    The Year 10 and 11 netball teams played today in the Jersey Schools Netball tournament at Hautlieu. Both teams played some outstanding netball, demonstrating excellent teamwork and a high level of skill. Winning all of their games, the Year 11 team finished as overall champions and with 5 wins and 1 draw, the Year 10 team also finished as overall winners. Congratulations to all who played.

  • Welsh Alpine Ski Championships 2019

    JCG student, Olive, spent 4 weeks living independently in the Aosta Valley in Italy based with the British Ski Academy, with a busy schedule of ski racing and training, academic lessons and fitness training, and participated in the Welsh Alpine Ski Championships 2019 in Switzerland at the end of January. She came 14th in the U14 girls Giant Slalom event and 19th in the Slalom the next day; a promising performance for her first national competition and this sets her up well for next year when she can ski in the U14 category again.​
